Gregg SmithGregg founded Smith Oblander Meade & Mitcham, PC, opening the doors in 1993 as a sole practitioner who would take nearly any case that walked in the door. Since then, the firm has grown to four lawyers, and now Gregg mostly handles insurance defense, business, and liquor and gaming matters.

Gregg graduated from the University of Montana in 1985 with a B.S. in Business Administration (Emph: Accounting). He graduated with honors from the University of Montana School of Law in 1988. After graduation, he returned to his hometown of Great Falls, and started practice with his father’s firm, where he remained for 5 years until he left in 1993 to start his own practice.

Gregg is married, with a beautiful wife and three great kids, one a US Navy veteran attending college, one a logistics broker in Austin, Texas, and one working in the finance department at Montana State University in Bozeman. His favorite pastime is water skiing on the Missouri River all summer long (including most lunch hours!). He snowboards in the winter, enjoys staying active year-round, and loves to hang out with his little Schnauzers, Sawyer and Finn.

Gregg is active in local charitable organizations. He is a past president of the Cascade County Bar Association and the Cascade County Law Clinic. He has been President of the Board of Directors of the United Way and has served as Chairman of its annual fundraising campaign. He is a Trustee of the State Bar of Montana. He is a former member of the State Bar of Montana Technology Committee, which fit his natural obsession with all things tech.
